Wild Foods From Foraging to Feasting – Free Presentation

August 15 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Free
Portland, Oregon.

As a part of the Belmont Public Library Grand Re-Opening, author and educator John Kallas gives an entertaining and enlightening slide presentation, lecture, and video of Wild Foods of the Pacific Northwest and all of North America. The library, originally opened in 1924, has been closed for a couple of years while it is under reconstruction and expansion to better serve the community.
Edible wild plants are all around us, common, and available through most of the year. Find them on forest trails, open fields, farmland, gardens, waterways, and neighborhoods; there are lots of things to eat out there. Learn how to get the most out of your efforts to learn about wild foods. John will cover content of his books and more. There will be a question and answer period and John will sell and sign copies of his books at the end of the presentation.
John Kallas, is the Director of Wild Food Adventures outdoor school and author of two books: “Edible Wild Plants: Wild Foods From Dirt to Plate”, 2010 and “Edible Wild Plants: Wild Foods From Foraging to Feasting”, 2023. He will bring signed copies of these books to sell. No registration required.
