Wild Foods of Willamina, Oregon

June 17, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Willamina, Oregon.

$25 – $50 sliding scale, children pay their age, see details.
We’ll bushwhack through Willamina habitats to find some of mid-season’s best and diverse delectables — flowers, fruits, and greens. Wild as well as landscaped edibles will be identified. Some eating may occur. You will later find most of this abundance in local habitats all around you.

What to Bring

Prepare for the weather. Bring comfortable hiking shoes. Wear long pants since high grass and rough plants in some areas may cut exposed legs. If hot and sunny wear a wide brimmed shade hat and light colored reflective clothing. Bring water and a spray mister to mist each other to cool off.

Meeting Site

Be at the Fendall Hall Schoolhouse just before 1pm. It’s located at: 37515 SW Tindle Creek Rd, Willamina, OR 97396. We’ll cover some plants there and carpool to a second location.

Sliding Scale Economics
Due to hard economic times for some, sliding scales are offered to support individual financial circumstances.  We ask participants to pay what they feel they can afford within the range offered for each workshop.  You decide what to pay using an honest assessment of your individual circumstances.  We do not ask anyone to explain their very personal decision.  The high end is a very reasonable price for these quality workshops for those who are doing well in this economy. Groups must contact us for circumstance-specific rates.
Discounts
$3 Discounts are available on our Registration Form for adult family members that attend together, Native Americans, full time college students and scout leaders. Children (17 and under) must be accompanied by their parent(s). Children under 7 are free. Children 7 and above pay their age. Classrooms and teachers with students are not eligible for these discounts and must contact us for circumstance-specific rates.
Refund & Transfer Policies
If you cannot attend a workshop you registered for, and you contact us immediately, or at the latest, the last weekday before the event, you are entitled to a refund minus the following administrative handling fees: switching to another workshop = $3; sending you a refund check = $5. If you do not show up for a workshop you registered for, you forfeit the full amount paid.

Enrollment Limited! – Advanced registration reserves you a place in the workshop. Walk-ons may be turned away if our size limit is reached. When registering by mail, assume a workshop is open unless you see a “FULL” notice posted above.
