Learn about the edible plants found in deep pacific northwest forests. Spring is when wildflowers are blooming and wild greens are ripe for picking. See plants like wild violet, Solomon’s seal, fairly bells, licorice fern, various fiddleheads, wild ginger and much more. Learn the many ways they can be used as food. Explore one of the more beautiful forests in Seattle’s own backyard. On your registration form choose either this or the Seattle workshop on Saturday. Once a choice is made you will need permission if you want to transfer to the other. For a poster of this event choose either a pdf file (good for printing and sharing by e-mail), or a png file, (better for posting on some social media)

— Money if you want to buy John’s books ($25-30 each [sliding scale] list price is $28). We accept cash, check, or CC ($1 extra each book for CC fee). Edible Wild Plants, Volumes 1 and 2 are available after each workshop to look at or buy.

Since it is too late to physically mail registration forms, do the following to help speed up registration at the beginning of events:
1. Email us PDFs of your registration and waiver forms to mail@wildfoodadventures.com. If you do not have that capability, send us an e-mail with the following information. Please do not use a junk e-mail address when sending us stuff. We will bring extra waiver forms to the workshops if you need them. So type into an email:

2. Put originals of your registration form, waiver, and fee in an unsealed envelope. Write the names and dates of the workshop(s) you are paying for on the outside of the envelope. Bring that with you and hand it in during onsite registration.

While you can register many times throughout the year, only a single waiver form is required per person per year (Jan 1 – Dec 31) for all our day events.

Meet at the Locust Creek Park’s parking lot off of Vine Rd in Brier. There are not a lot of parking spaces there. If the lot is full, park along Vine Rd where possible, or in the surrounding neighborhood. Take care not to block driveways or other important features. There is a lot of parking along Oak Way, about a 1,000 feet walk. Always park to the right of the road’s white line. Don’t leave valuables in your car. There might not be a restroom at the park, so go before you arrive. Here is a GOOGLE MAP. to the site.
Sliding Scale Economics
Due to hard economic times for some, sliding scales are offered to support individual financial circumstances. We ask participants to pay what they feel they can afford within the range offered for each workshop. You decide what to pay using an honest assessment of your individual circumstances. We do not ask anyone to explain their very personal decision. The high end is a very reasonable price for these quality workshops for those who are doing well in this economy. Groups must contact us for circumstance-specific rates. Rendezvous have their own rates.
Discounts
$5 Discounts are available on our Registration Form for adult family members that attend together, persons identifying as indigenous, full time college students and scout leaders. Children (17 and under) must be accompanied by their parent(s). Children under 7 are free. Children 7 and above pay their age. No more than 2 children allowed per adult. Classrooms and teachers with students are not eligible for these discounts and must contact us for circumstance-specific rates. Rendezvous have their own rates.
Refund & Transfer Policies
If you cannot attend a workshop you registered for, and you contact us immediately, or at the latest, the last weekday before the event, you are entitled to a transfer or refund minus a $5 processing fee. If you do not show up the day of a workshop you registered for, you forfeit the full amount paid.
Enrollment Limited! – Advanced registration reserves you a place in the workshop. Walk-ons may be turned away if our size limit is reached. When registering by mail, assume a workshop is open unless you see a “FULL” notice posted above.

Download the REGISTRATION and WAIVER Forms. Print and fill out these forms and mail them with payment to: Wild Food Adventures, 422 SE 49th Ave, Portland, OR 97215. If there is space and your are a walk-on, bring the forms and payment with you. While you can register many times throughout the year, only a single waiver form is required per person per year (Jan 1 – Dec 31) for all our day events. Multi-day Rendezvous require an additional waiver.
